unhappytriadMy friend who works in animal control just told me the story of a recent call. A young man had hanged himself and his dog was in the house and wouldn't let the police near to cut down the body. So my friend was asked to catch and remove the dog, right out from under the (2-day-old) body. The dog was a German shepherd/chow mix.
No matter how much we pay these guys, it's not enough.
(p.s. the dog initially escaped, but was later caught and taken home by a relative of the deceased. Nobody got bitten, and the police were able to remove the body before the arrival of the relative, who hadn't known the young man was dead.)
