So..."Iron Man": two thumbs up. Fun, great visuals, and faithful (enough) to the original. (Yes, I read a lot of comics in the '70s and '80s including IM, though the X-Men were my main fandom.) Also: Robert Downey Jr.? Yum.

I can also recommend "The Forbidden Kingdom", at least at matinee prices. Nothing particularly new or exciting, but it was fun. Bonus: if you were unfortunate enough to spend money on "Dragon Wars", this is the movie they were trying to make.

If you haven't already read Cory Doctorow's Little Brother, READ IT. READ IT NOW. MAKE A TEENAGER READ IT.

Finally, if you've never read any Wendell Berry, you're missing out on some great writing. I'm thinking particularly of his essays, though he's also noted as a poet. He is very much concerned with sustainability, and has been since most people had no idea what the word meant. Home Economics is a good essay collection to start with.
